Greetings! + News + New Video + TU FB Merch Table App + "Invent the Future"
Many good things are happening and taking shape in the TU camp. As I mentioned last communication, “Invent the Future” is in production. By the time spring rolls around you’ll be at the shows with me singing the new joints! We plan to release the record in ALL FORMATS – cassette, vinyl, CD and digital—and we plan to hit the road as much as possible to promote the release. In order for this to be executed properly we will be asking for the $upport of the listener. More soon! We’re also releasing a video for a song that is featured on the “Publicity Stunt” Mixtape, and on MXGM’s “Every 36 Hours” Compilation. “Publicity Stunt” is still going strong and this more to come before the end of 2012. "Every 36 Hours OFFICIAL VIDEO!"
We proudly present the visual treatment for "Every 36 Hours." Produced by Shawde Banx, the song has been building steam across the country, being played by DJs who support meaningful music. We'd like to send a special shout out to those folks who care about this music and the messages being transmitted across the airwaves. We sincerely appreciate the support! The song is based on a July 2012 study issued by the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement(MXGM) and the Malcolm X Solidarity Committee(MXSC). The study, “Every 36 Hours: Report on the Extrajudicial Killing of 120 Black People,” documented the killings of 120 Black men, women and children, murdered by police or some extrajudicial force in the first half of 2012. The actual document is available at mxgm.org. In an effort to raise awareness on the topic and encourage action in the Hip Hop community, MXGM released the “Every 36 Hours” CD Project. This song appears on the project. The project is available on Bandcamp + iTunes The video was shot, directed, and cut by Legaux. All super 8 footage was provided by Moira Tierney. It was shot A3C weekend in Atlanta. Check it out HERE!
